The bright eyed raptor ran through the forest. Tall trees loomed above him; rich foliage. It continued through the forest, leaping over streams, jumping over bushes, searching vigorously for something.
It arrived at a deep cave and rested in the cool shade; its awning was a perfect spot to rest, where the view of the forest was in front of him and the beginning of the cave was above him. It layed down there and went to sleep.
It awoke to a peculiar sound of chirping. Rather than springing from tree branches, this chirping sounded like it was directly in front of him. There was a whole party of birds hopping around in front of him, chirping gently. With the coolness of the cave, the pleasant feeling of being well rested, and the peaceful chirping of the birds, the raptor felt itself calming deeply, internally. Peace settled over it.
It began to gaze into the distance tranquilly. It began to think higher thoughts. It thought of peace, forgiveness, friendship and music. It started to feel that eating creatures was not the way, as that did not align with peace, forgiveness, friendship and music. So its head began to rock from side to side, left to right, as it brought in, accepted, and integrated its new feelings. It hummed softly, placidly.
It gazed into the distance, and saw more birds on the trees nearby in the distance. Everything seemed right. It decided this must be the way to be.
So it nodded to the birds in front of it and skipped into the forest again, excited by the idea of finding vegetables, fruits, grains, legumes and other foods to eat.
It gathered a vast sum of these items over the day, storing them in a grassy place in the forest; as the sun set, there was a nice sized pile accumulated.
A man approached. The raptor scurried into the bushes, knowing that most humans knew raptors as predators. The man smiled in amazement at the pile of freshly gathered foods. "All I could use is a sack of meat to finish the dish," he said out loud, in wonderment.
The raptor couldn't constrain itself any longer. It leaped out of the bushes, mouth agape, ready to chortle out a brilliant message. But the man grinned snarly and readied his spear. So the raptor leaped to the left and vanished; the man was hot in pursuit. So the raptor called backwards to the man: "Why would you need meat when you have such a plentiful bounty of vegetables, grains, fruits and legumes?"
The man was startled. It growled: "Because!"
The raptor waddled its finger. "No because! Let me show you what this can all be like."
So the man grumbled back to the pile and sat meditatively, looking securely at the raptor. The raptor hummed to itself as it prepared a delicious soup. Some birds and dinosaurs felt the aura of love and gentleness radiating from the raptor, and swayed around the two in a circle. The man appeared mildly surprised.
A huge squirrel hopped forward and added an acorn to the soup. An ant the size of a turtle added a handful of quinoa. "The world is helping us!" the man proclaimed.
A stegasourus began singing then. The deep, sonorous, soulful sound filled the air. The man began having flashbacks to days of hunting, where it would have never heard songs sung and food added to its soups. The man began crying and flung its hand into the air, saying "Why?" and the raptor took that moment to explain knowingly, "You see, it is all well. There is enough food to be gathered to sustain us. Let us enjoy friendship, music, peace and forgiveness."
More critters gathered around the circle, and everyone began singing. The man banged some rocks like drums and hollered freely, and the raptor caw cawed into the air, and everything seemed so right. Bowls of soup were passed around, and everyone ate to their hearts content. Eventually, they began dozing off, leaning against each other. The green raptor was so happy. It began closing its eyes, and only one eye was half open when it noticed a head the size of the circle looming ten feet above the circle, shifting from left to right curiously. The massive head had teeth the size of the raptors legs.
"What is going on here," rumbled a massive voice in a soft tone. The T-Rex was utterly confused. A droplet of drool dripped from its jaws and doused the entire body of a pterodactyl that was fast asleep. It awoke and shook itself off, then chortled in fear at the T-Rex. The whole party began awakening and the T-Rex's instincts kicked in; its eyes glowed red.
"Now just wait a minute," the raptor said. "You are wondering if this is possible for you. For a creature so large as you, how can you possibly fill yourself with just vegetables and the like?"
"Yes," the T-Rex said, a large tear dripping from its eye, splashing upon a small bird, who smiled in glee at the bath.
"There is a solution. There are vast plains stretching for hundreds of miles, where grass grows feet high. When you eat one mile of it, it will regrow while you eat the second mile of it. So you will always have food. And the creatures of the plains will welcome you."
"What of my," the T-Rex gestured around the circle, and a dozen more looming T-Rex heads appeared all around, filling the horizons. "Flock. Is there enough for all T-Rex's?"
The raptor thought to itself. "Yes. There are weeds of the sea, called seaweeds, which you can feast upon."
"And you can till the earth that is barren and grow crops," the raptor said, a great light shining in its eyes. "You can bring water, and seeds, to deserts, and transform them into lush lands, and even till that earth."
The raptor concluded. "There is enough for everyone."
"Good." The T-Rex said, and they began lurching away in a daze. "We will go to those places, and do those things."
Everyone who was awake cheered mightily, and that woke up everyone who was asleep, who then simply saw the T-Rexs departing and cheered uproariously, for they knew some miracle had happened, for the T-Rex's had departed and there was still peace. "They must have learned the way," the recently awakened creatures thought to themselves.
And so the aura of understanding spread, and the whole Earth became vegan. The aliens peering at the Earth noticed this, and decided that was the way, and it expanded out from galaxy to galaxy until the whole universe became vegan. Eventually even black holes couldn't stand gobbling up matter, and, in a great sigh, released all the matter they had consumed back into the universe, and decided to just float around peacefully.
